There are a variety of jobs in demand including water and wastewater treatment plant operators, construction and maintenance workers, engineers, scientists, environmental officers, electricians, plumbers and mechanical tradespeople.

The industry uses innovative systems and advancing technology to maximise and protect public health and precious natural resources and there are opportunities for jobs in capital cities and regional and remote communities. Responsibilities include the treatment and supply of drinking water, collection and treatment of wastewater, management of dams and catchments and monitoring of the environment.

There are long term careers across the state for people with a passion for essential community services and attractive lifestyle opportunities.
